USL shares set to trade ex-dividend on Thursday—How stock has fared YTD

United Spirits Ltd (USL) Dividend News Update: United Spirits shares are set to trade ex-dividend on Thursday, April 3. Earlier, the beverage alcohol company declared a dividend of Rs 4 per equity share with a record date of April 3. Read on to learn about this news in detail.

On Wednesday, USL shares rose by Rs 29.1, or 2.1 per cent, to end at Rs 1,434.1 apiece on BSE. 

How USL Shares Have Fared in the Recent Past

As of Wednesday, the USL stock has lost 13.7 per cent of its value in 2025 so far, underperforming a 1.7 per cent decline in the headline Nifty 50 index.

However, in the past year, USL shares have risen 9.5 per cent, as against a 4.0 per cent gain in the headline index.

Dalal Street participants are awaiting the onset of a new earnings season with IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) set to report its financial results for the January-March period—the final quarter of the financial year 2024-25–on April 10.

Many analysts have positive views on United Spirits shares. 

Motilal Oswal Financial Services holds a 'buy' rating on the stock with a target price of Rs 1,650. 

At the April 2 market price, the brokerage's target price suggests a potential upside of 15.1 per cent in the USL stock.

United Spirits Dividend History 

USL announced two dividend payouts in the year ended March 31. 

Prior to the Rs 4 dividend, the private sector firm declared another dividend in May 2024. That dividend was of Ra 5 per equity share.

Before that, the company had last announced a dividend in October 2023. That payout was of the size Rs 4 per share.
