Tata Motors Demerger: Shareholders of Tata Motors have noticed that the shares of TML Commercial Vehicles Limited (TMLCV) are not showing up in their trading apps, even though the allotment has been completed and shares have been credited to their demat accounts.
According to the company, the TMLCV shares cannot be traded until they receive official listing and trading approval from the stock exchanges. The process of listing on both BSE and NSE is currently underway and typically takes around 45–60 days from the date of application submission.
Until the listing approval is granted, the shares will remain frozen in shareholders’ demat accounts and will not be visible in trading platforms. This temporary restriction ensures a smooth and compliant listing process in accordance with SEBI regulations.
TMLCV, in an email to shareholders, confirmed this status, stating “The Company is currently in the process of listing its equity shares on the Stock Exchanges, specifically (i) BSE Limited and (ii) National Stock Exchange of India Limited, in accordance with SEBI regulations, circulars, and other applicable provisions. The equity shares allotted to you and credited to your demat account will remain frozen.”
Once the exchanges grant listing and trading permissions, the TMLCV shares will become visible in investors’ trading apps, and trading will commence. The company will notify shareholders once this process is complete.
TMLCV has allotted 3,68,23,31,373 fully paid-up equity shares to eligible shareholders of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPVL), as per the approved Scheme of Arrangement. The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Mumbai Bench, sanctioned the scheme, which became effective on October 1, 2025.
As per the demerger ratio of 1:1, shareholders received one share of TMLCV for every share held in Tata Motors. Depositories confirmed that these shares were credited to shareholders’ demat accounts on October 16, 2025.
Shareholders can check the credit status of their TMLCV shares directly with their Depository Participant (DP). Once the listing approval is finalized, the shares will appear in their trading apps, enabling them to trade
