Tata Motors name change: Ahead of the listing announcement of its commercial vehicles (CV) business, Tata Motors has informed shareholders about an important corporate update. The company announced that the name of its existing listed entity Tata Motors Limited has been changed to Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPV).
In an exchange filing, the company stated that the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai, Maharashtra, has issued a fresh Certificate of Incorporation dated October 13, 2025, confirming the new name.
Tata Motors said in the communication that Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited shall continue to remain a listed entity and will carry on the Passenger Vehicles (PV) business, including its investments in the Electric Vehicle (EV) business and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
The company further stated that, following the change in name, the trading symbol/ticker on the Stock Exchanges will also be updated. The new scrip ID/Symbol for both BSE and NSE will be TMPV, which earlier was TATAMOTORS.
“The trading symbol of the company on BSE and NSE will come into effect from October 24, 2025. The revised Scrip ID/Symbol for BSE and NSE will stand changed from TATAMOTORS to TMPV. All relevant historical data/information of the company shall be available under the new scrip ID/Symbol TMPV,” Tata Motors said in the notice.
The company also mentioned, “We request you to kindly take note of the above changes. The new name Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited shall be reflected in all our future communication, Annual Report, and other documents of the company.”
This update comes as part of Tata Motors’ ongoing restructuring process, which includes the eventual listing of its commercial vehicles business as a separate entity.
