Dividend Stock: A Bajaj Group company reported a sharp decline in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2026 (Q4 FY26), even as the board recommended a final dividend of 600 per cent for shareholders.

The company’s standalone net profit fell 92.23 per cent year-on-year to Rs 4.01 crore in Q4 FY26, compared with Rs 51.63 crore in the same quarter last year.

Total income declined 3.55 per cent year-on-year to Rs 6.51 crore during the March quarter, reflecting weak topline performance.

Profit before tax (PBT) also dropped 91.20 per cent to Rs 5.46 crore in Q4 FY26, against Rs 62.05 crore in Q4 FY25.

Expenses show sharp movement

On the cost side, the company reported a significant decline in total expenses, which fell 55.88 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1.05 crore in Q4 FY26.

However, employee benefit expenses rose sharply by 339.99 per cent year-on-year to Rs 0.22 crore during the quarter.

Other expenses declined 41.13 per cent year-on-year to Rs 0.83 crore, providing partial support to overall cost reduction.

Rs 60 final dividend announced

The company under discussion is Maharashtra Scooters. Despite the sharp decline in profits, Maharashtra Scooters’ board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 60 per share for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

The dividend is equivalent to 600 per cent on the face value of Rs 10 per share. The company said the dividend, if approved by shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), will be paid on or before August 4, 2026.

The record date for determining eligible shareholders has been fixed as June 30, 2026.

Maharashtra Scooters Dividend History

Maharashtra Scooters has maintained a consistent dividend payout track record in recent years. The company had declared a dividend of Rs 160 per share with an ex-date of September 22, 2025.

Earlier, it paid Rs 30 per share on June 27, 2025, and Rs 110 per share on September 25, 2024. In June 2024, the company declared a dividend of Rs 60 per share.

The stock of Maharashtra Scooters has shown mixed performance across different time frames. Weekly, the stock gained 0.85 per cent, while it rose 5.29 per cent in the past month. On a year-to-date basis, it is down 7.79 per cent.

However, the stock has delivered strong long-term returns, with gains of 14.55 per cent in one year, 187.86 per cent in three years, and 285.02 per cent over five years.

The stock touched a 52-week high of Rs 18,538 on September 15, 2025, and a 52-week low of Rs 10,500 on May 9, 2025.

The company's total market capitalisation stands at Rs 14,970.28 crore.
