Commemorating the country's 76th Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) launched a digital knowledge repository, an initiative aimed at documenting and showcasing the rich heritage and evolution of the country's securities market. The repository, titled 'Dharohar-Milestones in the Indian Securities Market', captures the long-stanring history of organised trading in the domestic securities market over the past 150 years. The country's securities market is known for its diverse products, participants and institutions.

What is the Dharohar repository? It features a website designed especially for a wide audience, including students, investors, researchers, journalists, market participants as well as the general public.
It includes an interactive timeline of significant events and 3D galleries, offering an engaging experience to visitors.
Currently, Dharohar houses more than 3,000 assets, including articles covering subjects such as the evolution of various regulations and interviews with notable personalities, newspaper clippings of historic events, share certificates, infographics, videos and committee reports.
The dynamic repository is expected to grow further, continually adding new content to enhance its value to users, according to an official statement.
SEBI extended its gratitude to the individuals and institutions that contributed to this initiative, including members of the Monitoring and Advisory Committee of Project Dharohar, its ex-Chairperson, ex-Whole Time Members, former employees, scripophilists, renowned experts, industry leaders, MIIs and industry associations.
