Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) will convene a board meeting on March 5 to evaluate the declaration of an interim dividend for the financial year 2024-25.
In a regulatory filing on February 25, the Bengaluru-based defence PSU stated: "Pursuant to Regulation 29 of the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, we wish to inform you that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the company is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, the 5th of March, 2025, to consider, inter alia, the declaration of an interim dividend for the financial year 2024-25."
If approved, this would be BEL’s first interim dividend for the current fiscal. The board is also expected to determine the record date for the dividend. However, the exchange filing did not specify the ex-date or the record date.

The Navratna PSU has maintained a consistent dividend payout history. According to BSE data, the company announced three dividends in 2024. The most recent was a final dividend of Rs 0.80 per share on August 14, 2024. Additionally, BEL paid Rs 0.70 per share in both March and February 2024. In 2023, the company had distributed a total dividend of Rs 1.80 per share.
Bharat Electronics Q3 results
For the quarter ending December 2024, BEL recorded a 47.3 per cent year-on-year increase in profit after tax (PAT), reaching Rs 1,316.06 crore compared to Rs 893.30 crore in the same period last year. The state-owned company's revenue from operations grew 39.14 per cent to Rs 5,756.12 crore in Q3 FY25, up from Rs 4,136.69 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

As of 9:30 am today, BEL shares were trading 0.14 per cent lower at Rs 264 apiece, compared to the previous close of Rs 264.71. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 was up 0.38 per cent at 22,167.30 points.
Over the past month, BEL’s stock has declined 8.51 per cent, while it has dropped 9.03 per cent over six months and 10.05 per cent year-to-date. However, on a year-on-year basis, the stock has gained 25.43 per cent, outperforming the Nifty 50, which has declined 6.56 per cent year-to-date and 0.76 per cent over the past year.
