Equity benchmark indices closed higher on Tuesday after a volatile session, with the BSE Sensex rising over 500 points and the NSE Nifty settling above the 23,100 level.

Markets opened in the red after three consecutive sessions of gains but recovered sharply during the day. The Sensex rebounded around 1,300 points from the day’s low, supported by buying in IT and realty stocks.

The recovery came despite global concerns triggered by fresh remarks from Donald Trump on Iran and a rise in crude oil prices, which kept investors cautious in early trade.
