DOMS Share Price: Shares of DOMS Industries witnessed sharp volatility on Wednesday after reports suggested that promoter shareholder FILA – Fabbrica Italiana Lapis Ed Affini Spa was likely to pare its stake in the company through a block deal.
The stock declined as much as 4.92 per cent to an intraday low of Rs 2,200 on the NSE in early trade. It later recouped most of the losses and was trading at Rs 2,309.90 at 1:15 PM, down 0.18 per cent from the previous close.
On Tuesday, Zee Business reported, citing sources, that FILA was looking to sell up to a 7 per cent stake in DOMS Industries through a block deal worth around Rs 892 crore.
According to the report, the proposed transaction had a base deal size of 5.2 per cent equity, with an upsize option of 1.8 per cent. The floor price was reportedly fixed at Rs 2,100 per share, representing a discount of around 9 per cent to the stock's previous closing price.
Around 44.1 lakh shares, equivalent to 7.3 per cent equity in DOMS Industries, likely changed hands on the exchanges on Wednesday.
The transaction was valued at approximately Rs 980.6 crore based on market data. However, the identities of the buyers and sellers is not available.
FILA held a 26.01 per cent stake in DOMS Industries as of March 31, 2026, according to exchange filings.
The possibility of a large shareholder reducing its holding weighed on investor sentiment in early trade. However, the stock recovered significantly from the day's low as trading progressed.
Market participants said the recovery indicated that demand was able to absorb the large volume of shares traded during the session.
Separately, DOMS Industries has been pursuing growth initiatives to strengthen its presence in the writing instruments segment.
On June 10, the company informed stock exchanges that it had entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement with Reynolds Pens India Private Limited, Sanford, L.P., Luxembourg Brands S.à r.l., Newell Europe S.à r.l., NWL Valence Services S.A.S. and NWL Switzerland S.à r.l.
The transaction covers the acquisition of plant and machinery, moulds, contracts and social media accounts from Reynolds Pens India; copyrights, trademarks and domain names from Luxembourg Brands; and patents and designs from Sanford, L.P.
The aggregate consideration for the transaction is $3.7 million, excluding inventory.
The acquisition is expected to bolster DOMS Industries' position in the writing instruments market and expand its portfolio of brands and intellectual property.
While the large transaction has fuelled speculation about a promoter stake sale, market participants are awaiting official confirmation regarding the parties involved in the deal.
For now, investors are likely to focus on the company's growth strategy, including the Reynolds asset acquisition, as well as any disclosure related to changes in the shareholding pattern following Wednesday's transaction.
