Bank Nifty hits new high after more than 2 months; ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and BOB lead gains
Bank Nifty similar to the other headline indices hit a new high as private-sector banks aid gains
Bank Nifty in Friday's session (September 20) logged a fresh record high after it marked its last peak in July this year. Primarily, the Fed's oversized interest rate cut has a major role which has boosted gains for the high-beta index today.
Similar to the 30-stock frontline Sensex index and Nifty index, Bank Nifty too marked its record high today.
Bank Nifty's record high comes after 78 sessions
Bank Nifty, which is reflective of the banking sector's performance logged it new high after 78 days. The index marked its previous all-time high of 53,357 on July 4. During this period, 6 of the index constituents gave positive returns.
