Adani Green, Metal Stocks, NBFC Stocks to FMCG stocks - here are top Buzzing Stocks today

Sensex and Nifty today declined 1.11% amid profit booking in sync with losses in global equity indices. The BSE Sensex closed 549 points down at 49,035 and the NSE Nifty fell 162 points to trade at 14,434. Tata Motors (down 5.03%) was the top loser on Nifty 50 index and was followed by ONGC (down 4.04%), Tata Steel (down 3.86%), Hindalco (down 3.81%) and IndusInd Bank (down 3.39%)

Sensex and Nifty today declined 1.11 per cent amid profit booking in sync with losses in global equity indices. The BSE Sensex closed 549 points down at 49,035 and the NSE Nifty fell 162 points to trade at 14,434. Tata Motors (down 5.03%) was the top loser on Nifty 50 index and was followed by ONGC (down 4.04%), Tata Steel (down 3.86%), Hindalco (down 3.81%) and IndusInd Bank (down 3.39%). On the other hand, UPL was trading 3.22% up and was followed by Britannia (up 1.44%), Reliance (1.22%), Nestle India (up 1.16%) and HDFC Bank (up 1.09%). Meanwhile, there are certain stocks which were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of few such stocks:

Adani Green (down 2.21%): French oil major Total SE will acquire a 20% stake in Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) at around $250 crore. The company has said that Adani Promoter Group will sell 20% minority stake in AGEL to the French energy company.

Metal Stocks: Nifty Metals slipped 3.73% to 3,320.60. Metal Stocks were in pressure after data confirmed China's economy had bounced back last quarter as factory output jumped.  

NBFC Stocks: Mahindra Finance (down 4.64%), Muthoot Finance (down 3.12%) and Bajaj Finance (down 3.32%) among others, were trading under pressure as RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on January 16 said banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) need to strengthen the governance structure to ensure larger financial stability in the system.

FMCG Stocks: Nestle India (up 0.82%), Hindustan Unilever (up 0.089%), ITC (up 1.29%) and Dabur (up 0.56%) among others contra buying was seen in the FMCG stocks today

IGL (down 1.75%): Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country's largest money manager, has raised its stake in Indraprastha Gas Ltd by over from 9.48% to 9.59%.

Majesco Ltd (up 4.99%): Posted numbers for December quarter and said the talks related sale and lease of Mahape property is in process.
