Indian Air Force Recruitment 2021: Apply for AFCAT, NCC, Met online - notification, eligibility, educational qualification, exam date, registration payment and more
Candidates who wanted to be a part of the Indian Air Force can now apply for commissioned officers in flying and ground duty branches as the IAF is inviting applications for the same.
Candidates who wanted to be a part of the Indian Air Force can now apply for commissioned officers in flying and ground duty branches as the IAF is inviting applications for the same.
The applications have been invited for the courses commencing in July 2022 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches.

Online applications are also invited for grant of PC/SSC for NCC Special Entry Scheme (for flying branch) and for Meteorology Entry.
Important date:
The registration for online applications began on June 1 and the last date to apply is June 30.
Online AFCAT examination will be conducted on August 28, 29 and 30.
Eligibility:
Candidates who want to apply for the posts must be a citizen of India as per the Indian citizenship act, 1955.
The age limit for Flying Branch is 20 to 24 years as of July 1, 2022 (born between July 2, 1998, to July 1, 2002). Candidates can note that the Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years.
For Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches, the age limit is 20 to 26 years as of July 1, 2022.
Educational Qualifications:
For Flying Branch candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50 percent marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and graduation with a minimum three year degree course in any discipline from a recognised University with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent.
OR
They should hold BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent.
OR
Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent.
How to Apply?
Candidates will have to apply online by using the link https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in, or https://afcat.cdac.in. Also, Aadhaar Card is mandatory for online registration.
Detailed instructions for filling in the online application form is mentioned below:-
1. Click “CANDIDATE LOGIN’’ on the Home page- leads to AFCAT Sign-in.
2. In the next page, click on “NOT YET REGISTERED? REGISTER HERE”.
3. Sign Up: Creation of Log-in ID and applicant will receive a password in his/her registered email id.
4. After successful registration, sign-in with registered email id and system generated password.
5. Reset Password- Log-Out (candidates must remember their login ID and password for future use during
the examination process).
6. Fresh Log-in.
7. Selection of Entry: “AFCAT”; “NCC SPECIAL ENTRY FOR FLYING BRANCH”; “METEOROLOGY ENTRY”.
8. Click on “INSTRUCTIONS”. Read the instructions carefully.
9. Acknowledgement of having read and understood instructions- Check box to proceed to next stage.
10. Click on “APPLICATION FORM FILLING”.
11. Fill in all the required details including your personal information, qualification details, course preference, etc.
12. Upload Documents. Upload recent Photo, Signature and Thumb Impression (size of each jpg/ jpeg file to be between 10 and 50 kb).
13. Click on “MAKE PAYMENT”- Online (applicable only for AFCAT)
14. Click on “PAYMENT STATUS” to view whether payment is successful. If Registration Number is displayed, it implies that the payment is successful.
