India's first high speed RRTS train with airplane-like seating unveiled - See in pictures

The country's first high-speed RRTS train was introduced today by Indian Railways. It is consider as a step towards a new India's railway system. The new RRTS train is an entirely new train design that will be put through its paces before the end of the year.

The new train will feature six coaches in total, with the ability to increase to nine in the future, out of which one is dedicated solely to provide passengers with a luxurious experience, The train has facilities such as Wi-Fi, overhead baggage racks, mobile/laptop charging stations, and enough leg room.

A total of 407 seats will be available throughout the train's six coaches. The train can transport 1500 people at a time. It's worth mentioning that the train's inside is designed to look like an aeroplane.

RRTS train speed

The train  has the capacity to go three times faster than a metro. The average speed is 100 km/hr whereas the maximum speed is 160 km/hr.

The train's path is projected to be 82.15 kilometres long, including 70.0 kilometres (Delhi: 9.22 kilometres; UP: 60.57 kilometres) and 12.0 kilometres (Delhi: 4.08 kilometres; UP: 8.08 kilometres) of elevated and subterranean sections, respectively.

Transverse 2x2 seats will be used to seat passengers. It will also have a wider aisle with grab handles and railings for those who choose to stand.

Route

Route

The train is expected to be traversing the tracks by March 2023, covering five stations between Sahibabad, in Ghaziabad District of Uttar Pradesh to Duhai in Uttar Pradesh.
