West Bengal received a major boost to its railway connectivity on Friday as four new, modern Amrit Bharat Express trains were introduced, strengthening links between the state—especially North Bengal—and key regions in southern and western India.
<h2>New Amrit Bharat Express launched</h2>
The newly launched services include the New Jalpaiguri–Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express, New Jalpaiguri–Tiruchirappalli Amrit Bharat Express, Alipurduar–Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express, and the Alipurduar–Mumbai Amrit Bharat Express. These trains are expected to significantly enhance long-distance travel and improve economic and social connectivity across regions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the addition of these trains would further strengthen Bengal’s connectivity, particularly for North Bengal, with southern and western parts of the country.
