Martyr’s Day 2023, Shaheed Diwas 2023: Martyr’s Day, also known as Shaheed Diwas, is observed every year on January 30. It marks the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who was affectionately known as "Bapu" and "Father of the Nation".
On his 75th death anniversary, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Gandhiji and offered floral tributes at his memorial.
A two-minute silence was observed in honour of Gandhiji at Rajghat. He was assassinated on this day in 1948 by Nathuram Godse.
