Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Ahead of the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections, the Supreme Court granted temporary bail to CM Arvind Kejriwal on May 11, 2024, allowing him to campaign with certain guidelines till the last phase of the elections, i.e. June 1, 2024.
Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, 2024 in connection with the alleged Delhi Liquor Excise policy scam, got a temporary bail.
1/7A two-judge bench - Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta - granted bail on the following conditions:
2/7Arvind Kejriwal will have to surrender by June 2.
3/7A surety bond of Rs 50,000 will have to be deposited.
4/7Kejriwal is prohibited from visiting the Chief Minister's office or Delhi Secretariat.
5/7He is not allowed to sign official files, including those requiring approval clearance or clearance by the Lieutenant Governor.
6/7Kejriwal is restrained from commenting on his role in the case.
7/7He is barred from participating in any interviews or attempting to influence the case in any manner.
