It's Akshay vs Akshay! Mission Mangal set to BEAT Rustom, Airlift at box office

Mission Mangal box office collection: The Akshay Kumar-Vidya Balan film Mission Mangal is turning out to be a huge money spinner at the box office. After earning over Rs 29 crore on an opening day, the space drama is showing healthy trends on weekdays and currently stands with the grand total of Rs 121.23 crore. The movie entered Rs 100 crore club on its fifth day of release. Mission Mangal is witnessing an upward trend at the box office and is said to cross the lifetime business of Kesari. The film has already crossed the lifetime business of Jolly LLB 2 and will surpass the collections of films like Rustom and Airlift soon.


Competing with Akshay Kumar's other releases, 2.0 earned Rs 188 crore at the box office, Kesari stood with Rs 154.34 crore, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha with Rs 134.51 crore collection, Rowdy Rathore ended at Rs 131 crore, Airlift with Rs 129 crore, Rustom with Rs 127.42 crore. (Photo: YouTube)


So far Mission Mangal earned Rs 121.23 crore at the box office in 1 week, However Jolly LLB 2 earned Rs 117 crore lifetime business, Housefull 2 with Rs 114 crore and Holiday collected Rs 112.65 crore in lifetime business. (Photo: YouTube)


Mission Mangal is said to surpass the collections of films like Rustom and Airlift after which the film will become Akshay Kumar's fifth-highest grosser of all-time.


Jagan Shakti directorial venture Mission Mangal, caught the imagination of the people and received good reviews from critics. Jagan worked as an assistant director in films namely Padman, Holiday, Dear Zindagi, Ki & Ka and Shamitabh.


The movie stars Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha and Nithya Menen in prominent roles. Mission Mangal plots around a real-life story of the Indian Space Research Organisation's Mars Orbiter Mission of November 2013.
