India might not be among the richest countries in the world, but the country has the third largest number of billionaires. According to a report, in the next decade, there will be as many as 238 additional billionaires in the country. India is the sixth wealthiest country in the world. Billionaires refer to individuals with net assets of USD 1 billion or more. Here are some facts about India:

1. India currently has 119 billionaires and the number is likely to touch to 357 by 2027, according to AfrAsia Bank Global Wealth Migration Review.

2. India is expected to create 238 additional billionaires over the next 10 years.

3. China is likely to add 448 such individuals and thereby reach 697 billionaires by 2027.

4. The US is likely to have the maximum number of billionaires at 884, followed by China  and India by 2027.

5. Counties like Russian Federation (142), United Kingdom (113), Germany (90) and Hong Kong (78) are also expected to create significant number of billionaires in a decade.

6. Currently, there are 2,252 billionaires in the world and this number is expected to go up to 3,444 by 2027.

7. In terms of "total wealth", India is the sixth wealthiest country in the world with a total wealth of USD 8,230 billion.
