e-SHRAM Portal: The national database for workers of unorganised sector was launched by Narendra Modi led central government on August 26, 2021. The government will also provide e-SHRAM card to the workers. The workers from the unorganised sectors must note that they can now register on the e-SHRAM portal. They can register on the portal by logging in to the official website of e-SHRAM portal at eshram.gov.in or through the CSCs.

e-SHRAM card with UAN
Universal Account Number is a 12 digits number uniquely assigned to each unorganized worker after registration on eSHRAM portal. UAN number will be a permanent number, that is, once assigned, it will remain unchanged for the worker’s lifetime. The tweet said, "In times of any national crisis like COVID-19, financial help through DBT will be transferred directly in the bank account of the Unorganised Worker registered on e-SHRAM Portal." In order to register for the e-SHRAM portal, one has to login to the official website at eshram.gov.in. Then one has to click on the 'Register on e-SHRAM' link which is present on the home page. Then the person will have to enter the Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP. The user will then have to follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process. The central government has developed e-SHRAM portal which will be a centralized database of unorganized workers seeded with Aadhaar. After registering, he/she will get an Accidental Insurance cover of 2 Lacs under PMSBY. In future, all the social security benefits of unorganized workers will be delivered through this portal.
