Commonwealth Games 2022: With the successful end of Day 9 of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, UK, on August 6, 2022, India won 4 gold medals on Saturday. Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Vinesh Phogat and Naveen claimed gold medals in wrestling whereas Bhavina Patel made gold in para-table tennis. In Commonwealth Games 2022 Medal table, India stood at 5th rank at the end of Day 9 events. India held 13 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals so far. 

The grand opening ceremony for the Commonwealth Games 2022 took place at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, the United Kingdom on July 29, 2022. The 2022 Birmingham CWG is formally scheduled for 12 days and will conclude on August 8, 2022.

Indian wrestler Naveen won the gold medal in the men`s 74kg freestyle wrestling at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. With a thumping victory over Pakistan`s Muhammad Sharif Tahir in the final at the Coventry Stadium and Arena, the 19-year-old Kumar won the match on Saturday.
