Commonwealth Games 2022: With the successful end of Day 9 of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, UK, on August 6, 2022, India won 4 gold medals on Saturday. Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Vinesh Phogat and Naveen claimed gold medals in wrestling whereas Bhavina Patel made gold in para-table tennis. In Commonwealth Games 2022 Medal table, India stood at 5th rank at the end of Day 9 events. India held 13 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals so far.

Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Ravi Kumar Dahiya bagged a gold medal by thrashing his Nigerian opponent Welson Ebikewenimo 10-0 on points in the Men`s Freestyle 57 kg final at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games at Victoria Park, Coventry.

The 27-year-old Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat won gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the women`s 53kg event and completed the hat-trick of top podium finishes on Saturday.

Commonwealth Games 2022: Naveen Kumar
Indian wrestler Naveen won the gold medal in the men`s 74kg freestyle wrestling at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. With a thumping victory over Pakistan`s Muhammad Sharif Tahir in the final at the Coventry Stadium and Arena, the 19-year-old Kumar won the match on Saturday.

Para-table tennis player Bhavina Patel made history by becoming the first player from India to win a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games, beating Nigeria`s Ifechukwude Christiana Ikpeoyi in straight games in Class 3-5 final at the National Exhibition Centre here.
