Ahmedabad Metro Opening: Much awaited Ahmedabad Metro Phase 1 starts its commercial operations today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Gujarat to dedicate the first phase of 6-km-long Ahmedabad Metro service to the people today. PM Modi will flag off the metro train and take a ride in the Metro from Vastral Gam station. As part of the metro rail commissioning programme, PM Modi will also lay the foundation of the 28.28-kilometre second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro and travel some distance on the phase 1 stretch.
Ahmedabad Metro Rail: Phase 1
Union Cabinet had given approval for the Phase-2 of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project in February 2019. Phase- 2 will comprise of two corridors of total length 28.254 kms. It will provide comfortable and reliable public transport to the travellers, especially in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar region.
Ahmedabad Metro Rail: 40.03 Km
The Ahmedabad Metro Rail phase 1 project is around 40.03 km in total, out of which 6.5 km is underground and the rest of the stretch is elevated.
Ahmedabad Metro Rail Fare
Ahmedabad Metro Rail: The 6.5 km-long stretch connects Vastral Gam to Apparel Park. As per reports, the minimum fare may start from Rs 15 for a ride of up to 2 km and the maximum fare may be around Rs 51 for a ride of up to 31 km.
