India is celebrating its 73rd year of being a republic. On Wednesday, an amzing show was organised which not only shocase its milatary might, its diversity and and culture, it also showed the country in various hues and colours. While states presented their tableause, various ministries under the Narendra Modi Government also displayed their own tableaus. Zee Business brings some of them. Here is a glimpse! Source: PIB

JAL JEEVAN MISSION: CHANGING LIVES

 Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation presents its tableau on the theme “Jal Jeevan Mission : Changing Lives”. Jal Jeevan Mission was announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 15th August, 2019 to remove centuries old drudgery faced by women and children in fetching water and improve the quality of life in rural India, with a resolve to provide tap water supply to every home by 2024. At that time only 3.23 Crore (17%) homes had tap water supply. In just 29 months, despite Covid-19 pandemic and disruptions, more than 8.8 Crore (46%) rural homes, 8.4 lakh (82%) schools and 8.6 lakh (87%) anganwadi centres are now getting clean tap water supply. Proud droplet at the front of the tableau depicts achievement of ‘Har Ghar Jal’ and community ownership of the village water supply. Middle section showcases the joy of community in remote, border villages in Ladakh, now getting clean tap water in the comfort of their homes, schools and anganwadies. Trained local women are conducting water quality test by using Field Test Kits. The rear part depicts that when in winters, at an altitude of 13,000 ft,temperature falls to minus 20C, water sources get frozen, supply lines become inoperative, pipes burst, and supply of materials is affected badly, how with the help of animals & helicopters construction material is lifted and transported. This part also depicts technical challenges to draw water from frozen water sources. Due to freezing temperatures, main water supply lines are laid below frost line. Wherever pipes come above the frost line, these are encased in 4" diameter of glass wool, wood, aluminium jacketing for insulation. Solar power plays an integral part to ensure continuous flow of water in the pipe line.

SHUTTLING TO THE FUTURE

The tableau of Ministry of Textiles (MoT) showcases the theme “shuttling to the future” which attempts to take the viewers through the lens of this journey from past to the future. The concept of this tableau is inspired by the ‘Shuttle’ used in weaving. This traditional weaving shuttle transforms to a Space-shuttle, reflecting the evolution of traditional textiles to futuristic technical textiles. India’s strengths have been defined in traditional textiles and natural fibers globally and is now emerging as a key player in technical textiles. During Covid-19 crisis when global manufacturing came to a grinding halt, India became the second largest PPE kit manufacturer. The front part of the tableau represents shuttle and has charkhas, cotton balls and silk cocoon on top which represent fiber to yarn conversion. The rear part has colored yarns which are converted into fabric by looms and in turn into different traditional to technical apparels. A weaver is weaving a beautiful yarn dyed fabric in the handloom. Next to that is “India size”, NIFT has undertaken this project of national importance and developing a comprehensive body size chart for the Indian population. ”India size” will be one of the significant contributions of MoT to all the manufacturing sectors in our country. The end of the tableau has two exhaust jets of a Space-shuttle. Live models on our renowned traditional colorful textiles of our various states and technical textiles (health care sector) are walking along with the tableau.

UDAN - UDE DESH KA AAM NAGRIK

The tableau of Ministry of Civil Aviation showcases Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) - UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) and the rich dividends it has been yielding. Conceptualized by the Ministry and implemented by Airport Authority of India (AAI), the scheme has the objective of enhancing regional connectivity in an economically sustainable and affordable manner. Launched in 2016, it aims to enhance aviation infrastructure and air connectivity in tier II and III cities fulfilling the aspirations of the common man. The first UDAN flight was flagged-off in 2017 at Shimla by Hon’ble Prime Minister. Today, 403 UDAN routes connect 65 underserved/unserved airports, including heliports and water aerodromes, and over 80 lakh people have benefited from it. UDAN scheme has immensely benefitted several sectors pan-India including Hilly States, North-Eastern region and Islands. In the aircraft shaped tableau, the front part showcases women pilots depicting women power in India’s aviation, as India tops in women commercial pilots, globally. The rear portion of the tableau shows symbol of Buddhism and motto of UDAN- ‘Sab Uden, Sab Juden’. The middle portion showcases Buddha circuit connected through Udan Scheme, featuring, Buddha Statue at Gaya where He attained enlightenment, Dhamekh Stupa, Sarnath where He delivered his first sermon (Dharmachakra Parivartan) and the Mahaparinirvana Stupa, Kushinagar where He attained Mahaparinirvana. Both sides of the middle portion of the tableau depict Palm Yoga Mudras of Buddha in the centre and world heritage sites of India situated in different regions of the country, two each on either side of the Palm Yoga Mudra.

The Tableau of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship showcases the key aspects of National Education Policy (NEP 2020) through the theme ‘Vedas to Metaverse’. The pursuit of Knowledge (Jnan), Wisdom (Pragyaa), Skill (Koushalya) and Truth (Satya) was always considered in Indian thought and philosophy as the highest human goal. NEP is very unique in its concept. It is deeply rooted in our culture but has the ability to address the human resource requirement of 21st century. It promotes substantial use of cutting-edge technology for pedagogy while ensuring joyful education. It further emphasis on the innovation and creativity and stresses on giving education in mother tongue and multi– disciplinary approach. The front portion of the Tableau depicts our rich tradition and glorious past in the area of education since ancient times starting from the Vedas followed by the Gurukul education system, then the universities like Nalanda where thousands of students used to come from all over the world. The first part of the rear portion shows a glowing brain-like ‘Bulb’ symbolizing the innovation & creativity aspects. Procession of students of different age groups depict skill development, joyful learning, emphasizing latest technologies like Augmented Reality/ Virtual Reality etc. Video played on the LED screens of the digital book depicts multidisciplinary education, Research & Innovation, Startups, Robotics and Metaverse. Images of educationists/scientists from ancient times to modern age can also be seen on both sides of the Tableau.

150 YEARS OF SRI AUROBINDO

150 YEARS OF SRI AUROBINDO

The Ministry of Culture, Government of India presents the tableau on the life and works of Sri Aurobindo as the nation celebrates his 150th birth anniversary. Born on 15th August 1872, Sri Aurobindo was a pioneer of Indian freedom Struggle, Spiritual Leader, Philosopher, Yogi, Maharishi and a Seer-Poet. As a nationalist and freedom fighter he saw India as a soul and created a threefold political program—Swaraj, Swadeshi, Boycott. He was a journalist, editing newspapers such as Bande Mataram. While in jail he had a divine vision and thus he gradually became a spiritual reformer, introducing his visions on human progress and spiritual evolution. He visualized India’s renaissance and recovered her ancient spiritual knowledge. His spiritual collaborator Mirra Alfassa known as “The Mother” helped manifest his vision with Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville. The tableau presents a glimpse into the unique persona of Sri Aurobindo. The front part of the tableau displays a larger than life sculpture of Sri Aurobindo as an epitome of spirituality along with the symbolic representation of the Matri Mandir at Auroville and the Tree of Knowledge. The middle part showcases landmark moments in the life of Sri Aurobindo depicting his journey from a political leader to a spiritual master and also as a prolific thinkerauthor. The rear part of the tableau draws attention to the iconic Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry, the divine presence of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, his seminal works and his dream image of Bharat Mata.

INDIA POST : 75 YEARS@ RESOLVEWOMEN EMPOWERMENT

The tableau of Department of Post, showcases the theme “INDIA POST:75 YEARS@ RESOLVE-WOMEN EMPOWERMENT”. The Department stands as a model employer of women besides rendering financial inclusion services to women; almost 50% account holders of the India Post Payments Bank as well as the Post Office Savings Bank are women. The tableau displays the robust outreach and the modern face of India Post that ties the entire country in one thread and aims to portray its focus on women empowerment not only through ‘All women post offices’& Divyang friendly post offices but also by providing opportunity to women employees to serve shoulder to shoulder along with men. The front of the tableau features a Post Woman, equipped with a digital device and a postman’s bag; a perfect blend of technology and tradition with the image of a Harkara (foot Dak messenger) as side relief. The two images are set in the foreground of the ubiquitous red letter box. The middle part of the tableau features the Floating Post Office of Srinagar with girl children emphasizing the SUKANYA SAMRIDDHI YOJANA, a scheme under Honorable PM’s initiative of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign. The All Women Post Office showcases India Post’s resolve and a step towards gender equality. At the rear is the Kolkata GPO; the oldest GPO, a proud witness to the journey of India Post and one of the iconic heritage buildings of India. Adorning the tableau, there is a collage of stamps digitally printed on khadi, pertaining to the country’s freedom struggle.
