2.0 budget: Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar set to wow you, but the cost claim will shock you

2.0 budget: Rajinikanth movies are always big budget and massive grossers. If you add Bollywood icon Akshay Kumar to the equation, while things get even more interesting for fans, the costs start spiralling out of control. While Akshay may not be the one to be blamed for much of the skyrocketing costs, one thing is clear and that is that 2.0 film is going to be one of the costliest ever produced in India, if not the costliest.

Variety magazine has printed a poster of 2.0 that indicates this Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer is the most expensive film ever made in India. The poster of 2.0 provides the explanation too. The legend on the poster reads like this: 'India’s first USD 75 million film'.

2.0 film, which is directed by Shankar will be releasing on 29th November, 2018.

Considering that Rajinikanth linked movies' filmmakers spare no expense to ensure the actor's films are made on a grand scale, the claim may not really be unbelievable - when converted into Indian rupees, the sum is Rs. 543 crore!

In 2.0, Rajinikant will play the role of his most popular character, which is "Chitti" Robot.

In the film, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson have played pivotal roles too, while the music has been composed by A. R. Rahman. The movie will be released in Tamil and Hindi and further will apparently be dubbed in more than 10 languages.

Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 is a sequel to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran, and features Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.

Akshay Kumar pointed in a recent Instagram post that the film is the result of hard work and the blood and sweat of over 3000 technicians who have put their best to make this film the best ever in Indian cinema.
