UPSC civil services 2017 toppers marks: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has now released the marks of successful candidates.  The UPSC declared the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2017 final results on April 27. Indian Revenue Service officer Durishetty Anudeep, the first rank holder in the exam,  has got 55.60 percent marks. Anudeep scored 1,126 marks -- 950 in the written test and 176 in the interview -- out of total 2,025 marks. The UPSC main exam is held for 1,750-mark written exam  and the interview is hold for 275 marks.

Anu Kumari, the second rank holder in the UPSC civil service examination, secured 55.50 percent or 1,124 marks (937 in written and 187 in the interview), while Sachin Gupta, the third rank holder, secured 55.40 percent marks -- 946 in the written exam and 176 in the interview.

This reflects the tough marking standard of the exam that selects bureaucrats for India. The UPSC civil services examination 2017 results were declared on April 27. The results were available on the official websites : upsc.gov.in. and upsconline.nic.in.  A total of 990 candidates -- 750 men and 240 women -- successfully cleared the prestigious exam. They are recommended by the Commission for appointment to various central government services on the basis of the test.

Topper Anudeep Durishetty, from Hyderabad, belongs to the OBC category and he qualified the examination with Anthropology as his optional subject. Anudeep Durishetty has BE (Electronics & Instrumentation) degree from BITS, Pilani.    Anu Kumari, who came second, graduated with BSc (Hons) in Physics from Delhi University and has done MBA (Finance & Marketing) from IMT, Nagpur. Saumya Sharma, who has hearing impairment, secured ninth rank in the UPSC civil service examination.

The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages -  preliminary, main and interview. This exam is conducted to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others. At least 13,366 candidates qualified for the written (main) examination held in October-November, 2017 and of them, 2,568 candidates qualified for the personality test or interview conducted in February-April, 2018.
