Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google as the government plans to establish better systems that will help citizens across India to find authorised nearest Aadhaar centres. The new project will show verified Aadhar centres on Google Maps, which enables residents to find the closest centre and its available services.
People will use this feature to discover their nearest Aadhaar centres through Google Maps while obtaining vital information about the services that these centres offer. The system enables users to determine which services a centre offers through its Aadhaar enrolment process for adults and children, and its mobile number and address update services, according to an official release.
The map listing will also provide other useful information. The residents can access information about the centre's operating hours, parking availability and wheelchair accessibility for Divyang persons with disabilities. The system will help people determine their visit times as it provides the details that they need to decide when they should arrive.
The upcoming months will see the entire country receive the planned implementation of the facility. UIDAI states that the partnership will enhance public service access while decreasing incorrect information about Aadhaar service centres. The search function will guide users to only approved Aadhaar centres, which they can find through online searches.
India currently operates over 60,000 Aadhaar centers which include modern Aadhaar Seva Kendras that provide multiple Aadhaar-related services in one place.
Bhuvnesh Kumar, the CEO of UIDAI, explained that the project will enable Aadhaar users to find approved service centres more easily while accessing essential services.
UIDAI will use Google Business Profile in its next phase of collaboration to oversee Aadhaar centre information while handling public input. The partnership plans to create a feature that lets users schedule appointments through Google Maps, which will enhance appointment scheduling for local residents.
