Rajasthan lockdown news: CM Ashok Gehlot says state will go under complete lockdown from May 10 to May 25; weddings 'banned' till May 31
Rajasthan Lockdown: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced complete lockdown in the state due to surge in coronavirus cases. The lockdown will come into force on May 10 (5.00 am) and will remain in place till May 25 (5:00 am).

The lockdown will come into force on May 10 (5.00 am) and will remain in place till May 25 (5:00 am). Barring essential services, all activities have been banned in the state during the lockdown period. Importantly, wedding ceremonies will also not be conducted during the said period and will be banned till May 31. As per the Rajasthan government order, permission has to be taken for court marriages and to organise weddings at home and not more than 11 people will be allowed to participate in it. The family where the wedding will be organised will have to submit details at Covidinfo.rajasthan.gov.in

In rural areas, since several labourers have tested positive for Covid-19, all MGNREGA-related works will remain suspended till further orders. Also, all religious places will remain closed during the lockdown. All private and public vehicles except those engaged in medical services will remain off-road during the lockdown.
The decision comes after CM Gehlot convened a meeting with the Council of Ministers to discuss the second wave and ways to arrest it.
Earlier, keeping spik in Covid 19 cases in mind, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday had formed a group of 5 ministers to break the chain of transition and take strict steps during the meeting of the State Council of Ministers at the Chief Minister's residence. The Group of Ministers submitted its report to Gehlot on Thursday. In this report, along with taking strict steps, suggestions such as complete lockdown were provided. After this, the committee brainstormed on the recommendations of the group and decided to announce a complete lockdown in Rajasthan.
