India is set to host high-level diplomatic engagements this week, with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and Finnish President Alexander Stubb visiting to participate in the 11th edition of the Raisina Dialogue 2026.
Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau will travel to the national capital from March 3 to 6 to lead the US delegation at the Raisina Dialogue 2026, India’s premier geopolitical forum. According to a statement issued by the US Embassy, Landau will also hold meetings with senior Indian officials to advance President Trump’s 'America First policy priorities' and strengthen bilateral ties.
During his visit, Landau is expected to discuss cooperation in key areas such as defence, critical minerals, and counternarcotics. The discussions will also focus on deepening commercial and economic engagement to enhance market access for American businesses and advancing a shared vision for a free, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
Meanwhile, the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, will undertake a state visit to India from March 4 to 7 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will be President Stubb’s first visit to India in his current role.
President Stubb will serve as the Chief Guest and deliver the inaugural address at the Raisina Dialogue 2026. The conference, organised by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, focuses on geopolitics and geoeconomics and brings together leaders and experts from across the globe.
On March 5, President Stubb will hold discussions with President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other senior leaders in New Delhi. The talks are expected to cover bilateral relations, India–Europe ties, commercial and economic cooperation, regional issues in Asia, and Russia’s war in Ukraine. Prime Minister Modi will also host a luncheon in honour of the visiting dignitary.
The visit will include an exchange of views on cooperation in multilateral forums and efforts to strengthen people-to-people connections and economic partnerships between the two countries. President Stubb is also scheduled to meet Vice President CP Radhakrishnan.
During his stay in the capital, President Stubb will lay a wreath at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial and interact with young experts participating in the Raisina Young Fellows Programme.
The Finnish leader will then travel to Mumbai on March 7. There, he will visit the University of Mumbai to address students on multilateral cooperation in an era of global fragmentation. He will also participate in the Finland–India Business Dialogue, which will focus on infrastructure, industry, skills development, and expanding economic collaboration.
President Stubb will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Finland’s Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala, Minister of Employment Matias Marttinen, Member of Parliament Timo Harakka, Espoo Mayor Kai Mykkänen, and representatives from leading Finnish companies.
