Russian President Vladimir Putin began the second day of his state visit to India with a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed him with full honours, marking the start of a day packed with high-level diplomatic engagements.

Among the Russian officials in attendance were Defence Minister Andrey Belousov and Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
Russian presdient visited Rajghat, where he laid a wreath and offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh. Putin also signed the visitor’s book during the visit.

The agenda is expected to include defence cooperation, energy partnerships, regional security dynamics, and long-term economic collaboration — key pillars that continue to anchor India-Russia relations.
Following delegation-level talks, the leaders will issue press statements. Putin is also scheduled to attend a business event aimed at boosting commercial ties and investments between the two countries.
