PM Kisan 21st instalment: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday released the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The Central scheme, launched on February 24, 2019, provides annual financial support of Rs 6,000 to eligible farmer families in three equal instalments.
The Prime Minister had released the 20th instalment on August 2. So far, the government has transferred more than Rs 3.70 lakh crore to over 11 crore farmer families across the country. Officials said the funds have supported farmers in purchasing agricultural inputs and meeting essential household expenses including education, medical needs and marriage-related costs.
The benefits of the PM-Kisan scheme are available only to farmers whose land records are updated on the PM-Kisan portal and whose bank accounts are linked with Aadhaar. The Centre has reiterated that completing e-KYC is essential for receiving instalments. The process helps prevent leakages and ensures that benefits reach genuine beneficiaries.
For the 2025 cycle, farmers must complete e-KYC, update Aadhaar-linked bank accounts and ensure accurate land details on the official portal.
Farmers can check their payment or application status using the ‘Beneficiary Status’ feature on the PM-Kisan website. The steps include:
- Visit the official PM-Kisan website
- Open the ‘Beneficiary Status’ page
- Enter Aadhaar number or bank account number
- Click on ‘Get Data’ to view instalment details
- New farmers who are not registered can apply online using the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option by submitting Aadhaar details, bank account information and landholding records.
Payments may not reach the bank account if e-KYC is incomplete or if there is an error in the Aadhaar or bank details. Farmers are advised to ensure that their bank accounts are Aadhaar-linked and that all information provided during registration is accurate. These details can be checked and corrected on the official portal, pmkisan.gov.in.
Under the 21st instalment, the Centre has transferred Rs 2,000 each to the bank accounts of more than one crore farmers across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Beneficiaries have also received confirmation messages on their registered mobile numbers.
