PIB Fact Check on Airline Services: The Fact Check unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has clarified that recent social media claims suggesting a ban on entry to airports across India are false.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PIB stated, “Fake News Alert. Social media posts are claiming that entry to airports across India is banned. This claim is false. The government has taken no such decision.

Meanwhile, several airlines have issued travel advisories in view of enhanced security measures at airports nationwide.
Passengers are being advised to arrive at least three hours before their flight and to carry valid government-approved photo identification.
Akasa Air, in a statement on X said that due to enhanced security measures at all airports across India, we request passengers to reach the airport at least three hours prior to departure to ensure a smooth check-in and boarding process.
"Please carry valid government-approved photo ID documents. Only one handbag up to 7 kg is allowed in addition to checked baggage. All passengers will be subject to secondary security checks before boarding," Akasa Air said.
SpiceJet issued a similar advisory, urging passengers to arrive early due to the increased security protocols.
IndiGo Airlines also informed travellers to account for additional time, stating that in these extraordinary times, heightened security measures are in place across all airports. We request you to allow extra time for your journey to accommodate the security checks. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”
