Pahalgam Attack Impact: Pakistan suspends visas of Indians, seals Wagah border, stops trade, closes air space

Following the Pahalgam attack, after India suspended visas of all Pakistani nationals and asked them to leave the country within 72 hours, Pakistan also hit back. The neighbouring country suspended visas of all Indians except Sikh pilgrims, suspended trade, closed airspace, sealed the Wagah border, and asked Indian Army, Air Force and Navy attachés to leave the country.
Pakistan took these measures in the meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) today (Thursday, April 24).
Here are the key steps that Pakistan took against India-
SVE visa suspended with immediate effect
Pakistan has suspended all SAARC Special Visas (SVEs) for Indians.
Visas of Indian citizens have been suspended, except for Sikh pilgrims.
All other Indians have been ordered to leave the country within 48 hours.
Trade with India stopped
Among other key measures, all trade activities with India directly and through third countries have also been suspended with immediate effect.
Airspace closed for Indian aircraft
Pakistan has closed its airspace for all Indian-owned and -operated aircraft.
Indian military officers declared 'persona non grata'
The country has also ordered Indian Army, Air Force and Navy attachés to leave the country.
Wagah border closed
In an unprecedented step, Pakistan has sealed the Wagah border.
All transit trade with India has also been stopped.
The deadly Pahalgam attack happened on April 22 when extremists killed 26 tourists.
S Jaishankar to hold meeting with ambassadors
Meanwhile, foreign minister S Jaishankar will hold a meeting with ambassadors of many countries to inform them about the incident in Kashmir.
The meeting was scheduled for 5 pm in South Block.
