IMD Forecast: Fog and light rain on January 1, dry weather to return from January 2

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that some areas of Bikaner, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions of Rajasthan are likely to receive light rain or drizzle on Wednesday, December 31. Due to the active effect of western disturbance, weather warning has been issued for many parts of the state.

The department has forecast light rain in some areas of Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions on Thursday as well. However, the weather across the state is expected to return to dry conditions from January 2.

Dense fog is likely to occur in some parts of northern and western Rajasthan between January 1 and 3, which may affect visibility during the morning hours.

According to the Meteorological Department, a cold wave is expected in the Shekhawati region between January 2 and 4. During this period, the minimum temperature may drop significantly and remain between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Jaisalmer received its first winter rain of the season on Wednesday morning. Jaipur, Alwar, Dausa and surrounding areas remained partly cloudy since morning. Fog was also reported in Sikar, Jaipur, Alwar, Dausa and Bharatpur on Wednesday morning, reducing visibility and causing inconvenience to commuters at many places.

Light fog was observed in some districts of eastern and northern Rajasthan during the last 24 hours. However, temperatures rose slightly as cold winds weakened. Persistent cloud cover in Fatehpur (Sikar) brought a change in the weather. The minimum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 6.4 degrees Celsius, nearly 3 degrees higher than Tuesday's 3.4 degrees Celsius.

Although most cities in Rajasthan witnessed sunny weather on Tuesday, cold weather prevailed with the maximum temperature remaining below 30 degrees Celsius. Chittorgarh recorded the highest maximum temperature of the day at 29 degrees Celsius, followed by Barmer at 28.2 degrees, Jaisalmer at 27.6 degrees and Jaipur at 24 degrees Celsius.
