Markets continue downward trend on Monday; Nifty, Sensex fall by about 2.7 pct in opening trade

The domestic stock markerts continued a downward trend on Monday morning. Nifty opened at 10694.95, down by 2.7% from the previous close on Friday while Sensex at 36536.31, was up 2.8% . On Friday, the Nifty ended the day at  10,989.45 levels going down by 279.55 points or 2.48% while Sensex closed at 37,576.62 falling by 893.99 points or 2.32%.
