Jharkhand Budget 2025: The Jharkhand government on Monday tabled a Rs 1.45 lakh crore budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the state assembly, marking an increase from the previous year’s allocation of Rs 1.28 lakh crore.

Presenting the first budget of the re-elected Hemant Soren-led government, Finance Minister Radha krishna Kishore projected the state’s economy to grow at 7.5 per cent in the upcoming fiscal year. The budget aims to cater to every section of society, including farmers, tribals, women, and economically weaker groups.

The budget outlines a fiscal deficit of Rs 11,253 crore. It includes an outlay of Rs 62,844 crore for the social sector and Rs 13,363 crore under the Maiya Samman Yojana, which provides financial aid to women.

Key allocations in Jharkhand Budget 2025-26:

Healthcare and education:
- New medical colleges to be set up in Ranchi, Khunti, Giridih, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Deoghar, and Jamtara.
- New universities planned in Jamshedpur, Gumla, and Sahibganj.
- Establishment of Business & Mass Communication Schools in Jamshedpur, Palamu, Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Deoghar.

Agriculture and rural development:
- Rs 4,587 crore allocated for the agriculture sector.
- Rs 140 crore for agricultural tools and equipment.
- Rs 203 crore for pond and deep boring projects.
- Rs 304 crore for horticulture development.
- Rs 350 crore for crop insurance.
- Rs 259 crore for agricultural produce storage.
- Rs 9,841 crore allocated for rural development.

Infrastructure and water resources:
- Rs 1,200 crore for road construction, covering 1,200 km of roads and 10 high-level bridges.
- Rs 2,257 crore for water resource management.

Technology and Innovation:
- Establishment of J-Hub and State Technology Park to promote innovation in the state.

Additionally, the budget includes provisions for the development of Tapovan Mandir in Ranchi and the formation of an advisory committee for scheduled castes based on the TAC model.
