Indin Railways: The video went viral on the social media and was also shared by the Railways Minister Piyush Goyal today after the arrest of the accused.
Are you an Indian Railways passenger? A recent event has revealed that even a slight negligence may lead to the loss of your smartphone or precious property. Mumbai Crime Branch team has arrested a 32-year-old man who used to run 'Phatka' gang. The man was arrested after an alert railway passenger made his video when he was trying to snatch the phone from the passenger while the train was running.
The 'Phatka' gang used to steal mobile phones from passengers who were either sitting on the window seat or travelling on the footboard of the mail/passenger trains.
The video went viral on the social media and was also shared by the Railways Minister Piyush Goyal today after the arrest of the accused.
"An alert passenger's video helped the authorities to nab the thief who was stealing phones from the commuters. The video which went viral, was crucial to track the culprit," said Goyal while sharing the video.

The culprit used to work as a security guard during the night and snatch mobiles during early morning hours. The police had circulated the video in the various group to informers. One of the informers had got back to the police with the clue following which the man was arrested, reported the Mumbai Mirror.

Many railway passengers have lost their phones to pickpocketer either at the platform or in the train. However, this case is totally different from the rest of the incidents. If you are travelling by trains, be alert while talking over the phone. A small act of negligence may prove costly.
