India Energy Week 2025: Several natural gas supply pacts signed, says Petroleum Secretary
A number of liquiefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreements were signed at the India Energy Week (IEW) event in the national capital on Wedesday, said Petroelum and Natural Gas Secretary Pankaj Jain. Spanning more than one lakh square metres with a keen focus on innovation, the ongoing 2025 edition of the IEW is being touted as the second largest energy event across the globe, in terms of participation, exhibition space and sessions.

India Energy Week (IEW) 2025 News: A number of agreements related to the supply of liquified natural gas (LNG) were signed in the national capital on Wednesday under the ongoing 2025 edition of the India Energy Week (IEW) event, a widely-followed annual event aimed at driving global energy innovation and collaboration for a sustainable future. Confirming the development, Petroelum and Natural Gas Secretary said that crucial energy sector aspsects like a global bio alliance were also discussed at length at the 2025 edition of the event.
The 2025 edition of the IEW event is being held at the Yashobhoomi international convention and expo centre in the national capital. The event, which started on February 11, ends on Friday, February 14.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri held roundtable talks with members of the US-India Business Council (USIBC), a trade body, along with representatives from energy giants like Exxon, Chevron and Shell.
"India is going big on natural gas," said Puri.
Among key developments, state-run (ONGC) and its subsidiary ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL) signed memorandums of undertakings (MoUs) with Petrobras. Several Russian and Indian companies explored opportunities to work together in a meeting held at the event.
'The period from 2006 to 2016 was the dull decade... Investments in the sector needs huge capital expenditure with a large gestation period. We moved from production to revenue sharing agreements in 2016, which led to increase in oil production," said the Union Minister.
India, the only country plying a hydrogen bus...
Puri highlighted that currently, India is the only country plying a hydrogen bus. "The hydrogen bus is a collaboration between IOCL's labs and Tata Motors... We have to take the green hydrogen idea into the popular narrative," said the minister.
IEW 2025: The grand event...
The 2025 edition of the IEW event is set to record unparalleled global participation from ministers, CEOs and industry leaders in the country’s crucial energy space.
It is set to register remarkable growth in scale and participation, with a 65 per cent increase in the exhibition space to 28,000 square metres. Besides, a higher number of conference sessions, at 105, as well as global delegates, at more than 70,000, is expected to set a milestone for the event.
More than 500 speakers including key international voices are on the long list of participants in the event.
More than 20 foreign energy ministers or their deputies are also participating in the event, along with chiefs of several international organisations and 90 CEOs from Fortune 500 energy companies.
