Heavy rain brought relief to Punjab and Haryana, with significant rainfall recorded in cities like Mohali, Ludhiana, and Amritsar. On Sunday, heavy rain showers swept across Punjab and Haryana, providing a welcome break from the oppressive humidity.
Significant rainfall was recorded in several areas, including Mohali, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Rupnagar, and Ambala. Pathankot saw 82 mm, Gurdaspur 68.8 mm, and Amritsar 57.6 mm over the 24 hours ending at 8:30 am, according to a meteorological department report.
In Haryana, Ambala received 83.8 mm, Karnal 36.8 mm, Sirsa 20 mm, and Hisar 6 mm. Chandigarh, the shared capital of both states, recorded 28.8 mm of rain.

- Heavy to Very Heavy Rain: Expected at isolated locations in Chandigarh and surrounding areas on August 11th, 2024. Similar conditions anticipated in isolated areas of Punjab and Haryana on August 11th, with potential for heavy rainfall from August 12th to 15th in Haryana.
