IIM Calcutta, Ahmedabad summer placements: Citibank, BCG, Amazon, Aditya Birla Group, Airtel in top recruiters list
It has been revealed that, the IIM Calcutta witnessed 100% summer placement, with offers flooding in from more than 120 companies. Whereas IIM Ahmedabad also saw hefty recruitment, with 20 offers in first cluster and as many as 53 recruiters participating in second cluster.
IIM Calcutta, Ahmedabad placement season: It is raining jobs for IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad students as major companies have offered hefty payments during summer placements season. It has been revealed that, the IIM Calcutta witnessed 100% summer placement, with offers flooding in from more than 120 companies. Whereas IIM Ahmedabad also saw hefty recruitment, with 20 offers in first cluster and as many as 53 recruiters participating in second cluster. Purpose behind a summer internship placement is to provide an opportunity to students to experience the real business world. It also helps them in taking decisions about their long-term career paths, while also giving firms a chance to evaluate candidates in a more relaxed environment and find the right fit for their firms.
IIM Calcutta summer placements!
In IIM Calcutta, 100% candidates of the class 2020 were recruited in a little over of two days span of time. A total 458 students had participated for summer internship in the 55th batch.
During this placement, the highest number of offers came from banking and financial services domain about 26%. In this sector, Citibank emerged as the largest recruiter. Other leading names that participated were - Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and many more.
Consulting sector was also not faraway in recruitment at IIM Calcutta with Boston Consulting Group being the largest one along with other firms like McKinsey & Co., Bain & Co., A.T. Kearney and Alvarez & Marsal who made hefty offers to the candidates.
In FMCG sector, companies like Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Procter & Gamble, ITC, RB, Colgate Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson, Coca Cola, General Mills, Dabur, Nestle, Jubilant Foodworks, etc. were also in the list to persuade students for working with them. In this industry, highest recruiter was AB InBev.
Under healthcare, Dr.Reddy's, Glenmark, Medtronic, Stryker and Boehringer Ingelheim also made offers to the students.
Companies like Aditya Birla Group, Tata Administrative Services, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance, RPG, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group and JSW continued to be strong preference of IIM Calcutta students.
Aditya Birla Group made the highest number of offers.
Going ahead, e-commerce sector was also not faraway as offers were made by companies like Amazon, Uber, Cloudtail, Flipkart, OLX and Swiggy as well.
In IT, companies like Capgemini, Microsoft, Tata Consultancy Services were also in the list. However, it was only Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited which returned with only four offers at the campus.
In the second cluster, the US-based online shopping portal Amazon emerged as top recruiter at IIM Ahmedabad campus by making 14 offers.
Moreover, in the consumer electronics segment, the South Korea's Samsung made highest offer, whereas another US company Microsoft was top recruiter with 10 offers. In BFSI, American Express and FinIQ made highest recruiter with 8 offers each.
In consumer tech, companies like Info Edge, OLX and also music app Saavn were among top recruiters.
In the consumer service cohort, Airtel shined as top recruiter with 8 offers, while Aditya Birla Group with 9 offers was highest job give in general management and leadership space.
With 7 offers each, companies like B InBev, HUL and Saint Gobain were top recruiter in consumer goods segment.
Firms like Adani Group, Bajaj Auto, Gilbarco-Veeder Root, Nissan, TVS Motors, Skaps and Vedanta also participated in the core manufacturing cohort.
