<p>The university later issued a formal clarification stating that the robot was sourced from Unitree Robotics, a global robotics company based in China, and is being used as a learning tool for students.</p>
<p>"The recently acquired Robodog from Unitree is one such step in that journey. It is not merely a machine on display—it is a classroom in motion. Our students are experimenting with it, testing its limits, and in the process, expanding their knowledge," the university said in a social media post.</p>
<h2><strong>Allegations over ‘Orion’ naming</strong></h2>
<p>According to reports circulating online, the robotic dog displayed at the summit was the Unitree Go2, which was allegedly presented under the name “Orion.” The robot is estimated to cost between Rs 2–3 lakh. Social media users criticised the university, alleging that imported technology had been showcased as indigenous innovation.</p>

<p>In its official clarification, the university said: “Let us be clear—Galgotias has not built this robodog, neither have we claimed. But what we are building are minds that will soon design, engineer, and manufacture such technologies right here in Bharat.”</p>
