<p>The meeting saw the participation of Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, senior officials including the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, and the Chief Economic Adviser. The ministry noted, "The meeting was also attended by Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs and Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India."</p>
<p>The consultations form part of a series of sectoral meetings the Finance Ministry has lined up ahead of the Budget. The ministry began its week-long exercise on November 18 with interactions involving the capital markets, startups and the manufacturing sector.</p>
<h2><strong>Week-long pre-Budget exercise underway</strong></h2>
<p>On November 19, discussions will shift to the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector, alongside representatives from the information technology (IT) industry. Meetings with hospitality and tourism industry members are scheduled for November 20, followed by labour unions.</p>
<p>Infrastructure, energy and urban development stakeholders will engage with the ministry on November 21. The final round of consultations is set for November 26, involving internal officers and social sector representatives.</p>
<p>Last week, the Finance Minister met leading economists as part of the initial pre-Budget outreach, followed by deliberations with representatives from micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to gather inputs for the upcoming Budget.</p>
