Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday to say that the central government's policies are nit designed to fabour big industrialists and are both pro-poor and broad based. Criticising the Opposition's accusation that the Centre's policies are pro-corporate, she said that the government's schemes have massive scale. 
Naming a number of polices and initiatives by the Narendra Modi government, she asserted that these moves have served every section of the society and every sector of the economy since 2014 -- when the current regime came in power. 
She also noted that at the "very core" of the government's framework are farmers, the poor, women, youth and MSMEs. 
The poor, farmers, youth, and women – all are an important part of the system, she wrote. 
"We are focused on the welfare of ordinary people," added the Union Minister.
