Earthquake in Delhi: The quake was felt across Delhi-NCR region even as people slept early on Thursday morning. On the Richter scale, the magnitude of the temblor was 5.8.

Earthquake in Delhi: The quake was felt across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad region early on Thursday morning. On the Richter scale, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.8, which jolted the Hindukush region of Afghanistan, the IMD (India Meteorological Department) informed. As per the USGY (United States Geological Survey), the epicenter of this tremor that took place at 6:15 AM was 50 km from Taleqan, which is situated in the Hindu Kush region.

The Hindu Kush Himalayan Mountain range is spread over 3,500 km across eight countries, spanning Afghanistan in the west to Myanmar in the east. An earthquake of this magnitude can cause slight damage to infrastructure. However, it is enough to create panic and send people rushing outdoors in fear.

The earthquake jolted Pakistan also. Tremors of same magnitude was observed in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan. Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha, Jhang, Mianwali, Kasur, Chiniot, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Abbottabad, Malakand, North Waziristan on other cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got affected by this earthquake.
