Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for the families of those killed in Monday’s blast near the Red Fort, Rs 5 lakh for the permanently disabled, and Rs 2 lakh for seriously injured victims.
In a statement posted on X, Ms Gupta said the incident had “left the entire city in shock” and assured that her government “stands firmly with every affected family”. She added, “We have taken a compassionate decision for immediate relief. Our government will ensure proper and quality treatment for the injured. Peace and security in Delhi is our utmost priority.”
The Delhi government has also directed hospitals to provide free medical care to all victims, with officials coordinating with the police to verify affected families for prompt compensation.
