Delhi’s air quality deteriorated sharply once again on Tuesday, slipping back into the ‘very poor’ category and some regions are leaning towards 'severe' category in Delhi-NCR. It happened just two days after showing signs of improvement. The national capital, which hovered in the ‘poor’ range over the weekend, woke up today to a thick blanket of smog and a sharp spike in particulate pollution.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures in Delhi-NCR are expected to decline gradually over the next few days. In Delhi, Safdarjung, the maximum temperature is likely to rise from around 26 degree Celsius on December 7, to 25 degree Celsius on December 8.
Whereas, in Noida the maximum temperature is likely to be 25 degree Celsius on December 2 to 23 degree Celsius on December 7, while the minimum temperature will remain constant to 11 degree Celsius between these days.
The weather forecast indicates a gradual dip in temperatures across Delhi-NCR. Both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to fall slightly, signalling colder days ahead.
With temperatures dropping further, pollution is likely to linger longer in the air, worsening AQI levels across Delhi-NCR.
Here are some regions of Delhi-NCR which are facing very poor and areas leaning towards 'severe' AQI, people are advised to take precautions and follow government guidelines.

As pollution levels surged, residents expressed growing frustration and health concerns.
One resident shared:
“The pollution has become extremely dangerous for both children and the elderly. Earlier, we used to come out at 5 a.m., but now we have to wait until 7 a.m. Our eyes burn, and we are constantly coughing. The government should take stronger action. Water sprinkling is insufficient,” IANS reported.
