Delhi Metro Yellow Line Sonipat Extension: MoHUA Approves Metro Line Extension from Samaypur Badli to Sonipat
Minister of State for MoHUA, Tokhan Sahu, confirmed the approval in a written statement to the Lok Sabha. According to the reports, the approval follows a parliamentary query regarding the extension of the Yellow Line from Samaypur Badli to Narela.

To strengthen metro connectivity between the two cities, Sonipat and Delhi, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has approved a plan to extend the Delhi Metro's Yellow Line from Samayapuri Badli to Sonipat, via Nathupur. This means the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) can now start working on the Detailed Project Report (DPR), which is an important step in expanding Delhi's metro network. Tokhan Sahu, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, has confirmed that the government has approved the extension of the Delhi Metro's Yellow Line from Samaypur Badli to Narela.
This approval allows the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to move forward with preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR), which is a crucial step in the project's development. Central government helps fund urban rail-based projects, based on the feasibility of the proposal and the availability of resources. This assistance is provided based on requests from state governments or Union Territories (UT) administrations, he added.

Delhi Metro Yellow Line: Route, and stations
The Delhi Metro Yellow Line currently spanning 47.2 km, connects Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Centre in Gurugram. The line serves 37 stations and provides eight interchange points with other metro lines, enhancing connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Major stations on the Yellow Line include Samaypur Badli, Rohini Sector 18 and 19, Haiderpur Badli Mor, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, and Patel Chowk, which offers convenient access to the city center and major commercial areas such as Millennium City Centre and IFFCO Chowk.
New Metro Corridor: 21 Stations, 26.5 km Route
A new metro corridor is being developed, which will have 21 stations spread across 26.5 km. The new line will start from Rithala and end at Nathupur, passing through several areas like Rohini, Bawana, and Narela. The metro corridor will have stations at Rithala, Rohini Sector 25, 26, 31, and several others, concluding at Nathupur.
