Delhi Heat Wave Action Plan: NDMA shared detailed plan to cope with extreme heat; government started implementing this, says CM Rekha Gupta

Delhi has recorded the highest temperature in India. The maximum temperature recorded was 52.9 degrees Celsius.
In a meeting held today, April 21, at noon to discuss the heat action plan, Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi, said, "If Delhi is the hottest place in the whole of India, then preparations should also be made in Delhi. What solutions should be found in such heat? A detailed plan has been given by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and it is being implemented. The Delhi government will install three thousand water coolers."
All ministers and officers of related departments were present under the chairmanship of the CM.

Delhi's temperature
Delhi on Sunday (April 20) recorded its highest minimum temperature in April in three years with the mercury settling at 26 degrees Celsius, 4.4 degrees above the season's average.
The last time the city saw such a high minimum temperature was in 2022, when it touched 26.2 degrees Celsius.
Sankalp Girls Hostel
Meanwhile, Gupta and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday inaugurated the Sankalp Girls Hostel at Sankalp Bhawan in n Dhirpur, Adarsh Nagar Assembly constituency.
At the inauguration, the CM said that education was the most important ladder for progress in the country, further stating that the hostel would allow daughters from all over the country to stay and prepare for civil services.
AAP not contesting April 25 Mayor election due to fear of defeat: Delhi CM
Today, the CM also slammed the AAP for conceding defeat and deciding to abstain from the April 25 Mayoral elections, claiming the decision appeared linked to infighting and fear of political embarrassment.
Reacting to Delhi AAP convenor Saurabh Bharadwaj's announcement that the party will abstain from the mayoral contest and not field a candidate, CM Gupta said, “It's good that they have realised well in time that the wind is blowing against them.”
