The COVID-19 cases in India have reached 3,961 with 2,188 patients discharged, according to the Union Health Ministry data as on June 2, 2025, till 8 AM IST.
The country reported 32 deaths across multiple states since January 1, 2025. According to official data, 203 new cases were added to the active case count since Sunday.
According to the Health Ministry, in Delhi, four deaths were recorded, including one death--a 60-year-old female with acute intestinal obstruction post-laparotomy, where Covid-19 was an incidental finding. Gujarat recorded one death, with details still awaited.
On Friday, Union Minister of State for Health and AYUSH (Independent Charge), Prataprao Jadhav, assured that the Centre is fully prepared to handle any situation that may arise.
Karnataka reported one fatality--a 70-year-old male who succumbed to acute cardiorespiratory arrest, acute encephalopathy with late-onset focal seizure, severe anaemia, thrombocytopenia, and comorbidities including diabetes mellitus (DM), hypertension (HTN), and ischemic heart disease (IHD). His COVID-19 status awaits RT-PCR confirmation, as per the statement. In total, there were four death cases in the state.
Odisha
On Sunday (June 1), the Director of Public Health, Government of Odisha, Dr. Nilakantha Mishra, said that the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to 12, further adding that the patients had mild symptoms and were being treated in isolation.
Kerala reported the highest cases. There are a total of 1,435 cases in the state. Eight COVID-related deaths were reported in Kerala, as per the Health Ministry data.
In Maharashtra, 21 new COVID-19 cases were reported, taking the active case count to 506.
In the last 24 hours, West Bengal recorded 44 new coronavirus cases. With this, there are 331 active cases in the state.
There are a total of 23 cases in Gurugram, including four new cases that were detected on Sunday.
In Punjab, one death case was reported. Six active cases in the state, and most of them are from Ludhiana.
Delhi reported 47 more COVID-19 cases, increasing the total active cases in the national capital to 483.
COVID-19 cases have been increasing in Asian regions like Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
In Singapore, NB.1.8.1 variant cases surge largely. On average, there are 350 cases per day.
