Bomb Threat in Delhi Schools: Several schools across Delhi have received threatening emails warning of possible bomb attacks on Monday, February 9. School management first noticed the emails in the morning and immediately informed the authorities. After this, Delhi Police teams reached the schools and started investigating the matter.

What is the matter?

On Monday morning, February 9, more than 10 schools in Delhi, including Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantt and The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, received bomb threats via email. After the school management came to know about the email, they immediately informed the authorities. According to police, the threats were received via email between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. Soon after, teams from the Delhi Police and Fire Department visited the schools to assess the danger and conduct preliminary investigations. However, no suspects have been identified yet in the email-related case, police officials said.

This marks the latest in the series of similar anonymous threats received through e-mail that have disrupted educational institutions in Delhi-NCR, causing widespread panic and operational chaos.

Schools that received bomb threats

In South Delhi, three schools received bomb threats — Air Force School on Lodhi Road, KR Mangalam School and The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar. While other schools include Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantt, Cambridge School in Srinivasanpuri, etc. Further investigation is underway.

  • The Indian School.

What did Delhi Police say?

According to the Delhi Police, all the schools mentioned are being thoroughly checked. Students and staff have been evacuated as a precautionary measure, and the investigation is ongoing. At this stage, there is no immediate danger, and the public is advised to remain calm.

Bomb threats received last year as well

This is not the first case of schools in the national capital receiving such threats. In November of last year, two schools and three courts in the city received emails containing bomb threats, prompting immediate evacuations and security measures. Last year, a CRPF school in Dwarka and another school in Prashant Vihar reportedly came under police surveillance and minor explosions also took place on their premises. The courts that received the threatening emails include Saket Court, Patiala House Court and Rohini Court.

Meanwhile, officials said that on January 28, bomb threat emails were also received at 30 schools in the Chandigarh Union Territory, following which swift security action was taken by the police and emergency services.

According to Chandigarh Police, threatening emails were sent to 22 private schools and eight government schools. Immediately upon receipt of the information, Anti-Sabotage Teams, Bomb Disposal Squads, local police units, along with the Fire Brigade, Ambulance, and PCR teams, were immediately rushed to the concerned schools, and a thorough check of the concerned school premises was carried out.
