The NDA is leading according to early trends, as counting for the Bihar Assembly elections is underway. On Friday, the BJP party pronounced that the election results would be in their favour and the alliance's victory would be magnificent. Moreover, the party said that the Congress would be removed from the state, and the 'jungle raj' has been totally rejected by the people of Bihar.

BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha said, “The results are expected to be favourable, pointing towards a grand victory for the NDA. By the time all results are declared, the alliance is likely to secure over 160-170 seats. The people have completely rejected the 'jungle raj'. Our 'MY factor (Mahila-Yuva)' is far more influential and powerful than their factor. Bihar is now ready to move towards new heights.” (as reported by IANS)

Speaking to the news agency, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal said, “The Congress will certainly be wiped out; there is no doubt about it. Congress engages in negative politics, and there is no place for such politics in the country. The BJP will emerge as the largest party, and the NDA will form the government.”

BJP leader Prem Shukla added, “These are only the initial trends, and even in the final results, the NDA is certain to receive a massive mandate. After this overwhelming support, the NDA government will once again be formed in Bihar. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of Bihar had already decided to give a resounding mandate to the NDA.”

Bihar Election Result 2025: NDA is significantly ahead of the Mahagathbandhan in early trends

The initial patterns suggest that the ruling NDA is significantly ahead of the Mahagathbandhan. The counting process for votes in all 243 constituencies of the Bihar Assembly election began on Friday, with heavy, multi-layered security measures in place. The counting started at 8 am with postal ballots being handled first, and then EVM vote counting commenced at 8.30 am.

As per the Election Commission of India's (ECI's) early trends around 9 am, the BJP is ahead in the Aurai, Sahebganj, Baruraj, Digha, and Rajnagar Assembly constituencies. RJD was reported to be on top in the Baniapur and Danapur seats.

Politicians from all sides were very optimistic about their chances of winning the elections.

The NDA claimed that the electorate of Bihar has reposed faith in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promises and the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s efforts for the state’s development. On the other hand, Mahagathbandhan's RJD, though bold, declared that Bihar has "voted for change" this time and Tejashwi Yadav will be the new ruler.

The Bihar Assembly election took place over two days on November 6 and 11. The current Legislative Assembly is dominated by the NDA with 131 seats, which consist of BJP's 80, JD(U)'s 45, HAM(S)'s 4 and 2 independents, while the Opposition comprises 111 seats -- RJD has 77, Congress has 19, CPI(ML) has 11, CPI(M) has 2, and CPI has 2.
