Akshaya Tritiya 2019: Expect sales growth around 15-20% in gold, says Malabar Gold chairman

It's the time of Akshaya Tritiya, and one can already expect citizens across India removing a sum to buy golds and diamonds. Akshaya Tritiya is among holy festival of Hindus and Jains will be celebrated on May 07, 2019. It is the time considered where demand of gold and jewellery is extensive after Diwali. On the ocassion, Ahammed MP, Chairman, Malabar Gold & Diamonds is very optimistic on the festival, and believes will drive sales between 10-15%.
Ahammed told Zee Business Online, We anticipate an optimistic Akshaya Tritiya this year as compared to last year. No impact is foreseen on account of current polls on sales which are expected to witness an uptick this season."
According to Malabar Gold chairman, organized retail players will exert a greater impact on positive consumer sentiment and lower prices are expected to be a key trigger in pushing sales on a higher trajectory. There are reports of robust pre-Akshaya Tritiya sales in the markets and the sales momentum is expected to pick pace tomorrow.
