24 November Holiday, Guru Tegh Bahadur's Martyrdom Day 2022: According to a notification issued by the Chandigarh Administration, all public offices will remain shut on November 28 to observed Guru Tegh Bahadur's martyrdom day.
24 November Holiday: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh and the Chandigarh administration have declared holiday on November 28 to mark the Guru Teg Bahadur Shahidi Diwas, news agency ANI reported.

According to a notification issued by the Chandigarh Administration, all public offices will remain shut on November 28 to observed Guru Tegh Bahadur's martyrdom day.

Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth of the ten Sikh Gurus. He sacrificed his life to protect religion and human values, ideals and principles. He stood out from an early age for his qualities of sacrifice and valour. He was executed for supporting the religious freedom of Kashmiri Pandits on the orders of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, according to PIB. He is respected as Hind Ki Chaddar due to the supreme sacrifice.
Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu in her message on the occasion of Martyrdom Day of Guru Teg Bahadur said that he sacrificed his life for the sake of dharma and that his sacrifice will be remembered for all times to come.
“I pay my homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur ji on the occasion of his Martyrdom Day. He is called ‘Hind ki Chadar’ as his martyrdom is seen as sacrifice for the Humanity. Let us all take a pledge to adopt Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s teachings of unity and brotherhood in our lives," she said.
